The Live mode of an UBIK® object model is trimmed on managing complex data models with large amount of data. So it is the mode of choice once you want to provide a data model for productive use, since it leverages the scalability features of the underlying database. However, in contrast to the Sandbox mode, it is not as flexible since changes in the Metamodel require a download and restart of UBIK.

Use the Class Browser's context menu to switch the mode of a MetaClass. Once a MetaClass is switched into Live mode, all instances are in Live mode as well.
